Chiune Sugihara, Japan Diplomat Who Saved 6,000 Jews During Holocaust, Remembered

Most Americans know of Oskar Schindler, the German businessman who saved more than 1,200 lives during the Holocaust by hiring Jews to work in his factories and fought Nazi efforts to remove them.
But fewer know about Chiune Sugihara, the Japanese diplomat who disobeyed his government’s orders and issued visas that allowed 6,000 Jews to escape from Nazi-occupied territories via Japan.
On Sunday, as Holocaust survivors and descendants of survivors observe International Holocaust Remembrance Day, a growing and widespread community of Jews — linked by their gratitude toward Sugihara for saving them or family members — remembers a man once forgotten.

This is incredible. I still don’t really know what to think after seeing this, but it definitely touches on something that affects everyone and not just women. The world today and its open streams of communication allow for instant feedback on anything someone brings up. What people might overlook is the fact that they are constantly getting feedback on themselves; their appearance, their personality, their mood, their speech, their ideas, their intelligence, and more. Virtually everything that makes up a person can be criticized, but as the old saying reminds us, we are our own biggest critics. Who else is with us 100% of the time during every activity every day for our entire lives?
I think that this little fact is forgotten too often. Self criticism can be overdone and passed off by someone as self-analysis or a self-assessment of flaws. We don’t give ourselves enough credit. We don’t forgive or forget our self categorized flaws, we are reminded of them every time we look in a mirror, every time we finish a meal, every time we don’t perfectly and exactly meet expectations. This is wrong. This is so wrong.
No, you’re not the most beautiful and attractive person in the world, but you know what? I bet that the most beautiful and attractive person in the world doesn’t live their life around it. You’re not the smartest of the people you know or see on television, but intelligence most certainly does not qualify someone as a caring and compassionate human being. You’re not the funniest person in history, but don’t worry because the funniest person in history is probably dead by now and you won’t have to compete with them.
Keep it in the back of your head that you are much more of a person than you allow yourself to be. Your misgivings do not make up who you are, and your mistakes are not the life you lead. Keep your head up, keep a smile on, and remember to cut yourself a little slack.

Rare Lenticular Clouds
The stunning meteorological phenomena of lenticular clouds (Altocumulus lenticularis) is a rare spectacle. Looking more like UFO’s than clouds, they are created by three conditions: warm and moist air, winds with constant height and something big, like a tall mountain. When a current of air hits an obstacle in its way, it begins to travel upwards and starts to condense forming a lens-shaped cloud with multiple layers.
